Northward Equinox is the collaboration of Kommpound and Ναφθalyn, the experimental projects of Panos Agoros and Thanos Mantas, respectively vocalist/lyricist and guitarist/songwriter of extreme underground act Dephosphorus.
It is a work inspired by and elaborated in anticipation of the Spring Equinox. It is packaged in a 6-page booklet, sporting beautiful photography by the talented Vasilis Gorogias while the layout has been elaborated by Lethargos Visuals.
Each cassette side clocking at 30 minutes, Kommpound deliver on their part 3 tracks oscillating between drone, ambient and noise. Their soundscapes are built around nature field recordings (notably some captured in Iceland) and heavily mutated sci-fi samples.
Ναφθalyn propose an electroacoustic trip, lifting off and coming down with 12-string guitars while in-between hypnotizing the audience with analogically generated noisy drones and loops.
